Skincare Diary Part 1: My Struggle with Problematic Skin and Hormonal Acne and How I got rid of it?

I've got to say writing about skincare is always a love of mine when it comes to reviewing a product but actually talking about myself and personal struggles is definitely not an easy thing but if this series helps one person with their personal struggle then it will be all worth it.

4 Ways to Simplify Your Life in the New Year

Life can very easily become busy, stressful, cluttered, and out of control. In our modern times, we all tend to lead extremely busy lives with little focus on relaxing, resting and self-reflection. Long hours, busy social lives and temptations are all at fault for this non-stop and exhausting lifestyle.

In 2020, why not make the promise to yourself to simplify your life? Remove, change and add things that add real value to your life. Things that can help you switch off, relax, declutter and reduce stress.

Here are 4 ways to simplify your life in the New Year.

1. Make a Plan

Enough of the New Years’ resolutions that never amount to anything. So many of us walk through life unconscious of where we are going or where we will end up. The thing is, if you don’t consciously plan where you want to go you have no idea if you will like where you end up. Planning is essential to creating the life you want.

This year, sit down and make an actual plan for your year. Think about what you want to achieve, why you want it and how you are going to get there. Start creating mini-tasks and goals to work to so that you can make your plan a success. By the end of the year, you will be far happier and comfortable with where you are because you consciously made it happen.

2. Go Minimal

Try going minimal in every way possible from your home to your spending habits to your dating life to your social life. Think about what is important to you, what adds real value to your life and ignore everything else.

In your home, remove anything you don’t use or that doesn’t hold any value to you. We’re not saying throw out your hotel quality bed linen from Richard Haworth but you may want to throw out the ten pairs of shoes you haven’t worn for the last year.

In your social life, start saying “no” to things you don’t want or need to do. You don’t need to go out and get drunk every weekend only to waste all your precious spare time feeling hungover. Similarly, you don’t need to be dating all the time! Choose your dates carefully and only go on the ones that feel right.

3. Clear Debt

If you have debt then clearing that debt should be number 1 on your to-do list for this year. Debt is not just a financial issue, it’s an emotional and psychological issue too. Money hangs over you like an awful shadow determining what you can and can’t do with your life. It creates unwanted stress and negativity that you don’t need in your life.

Make a plan to clear your debt. This can be as simple as taking the entire amount and dividing it by 12 (each month of the year). Each month you can pay the designated amount off and by the end of the year, you will be debt-free. Horray!

Clearing debt is liberating. It allows you to clear your head, simplifies your life removing unwanted stress and allows you to start thinking about wealth creation which is far more positive and exciting than managing debt.

4. Consume Less Media

Watching hours upon hours of Netflix every night, getting enraged about the news each morning and spending every bit of your free time during the day scrolling social media is not helping you. In fact, it’s just causing you to become negative about life. This year, spend less time in front of screens and more time flexing your creativity and social skills.

Instead of watching TV at night try drawing, painting or writing. Exchange the daily news for articles about self-improvement, education or just a topic you’re passionate about. Forget about social media scrolling and be more present with the people around you by listening to them and having a real conversation.

How to Improve Your Home in 2020

When a new year rolls around, it’s always a good idea to look at your life and figure out how you can make improvements. In most cases, people look at things like their fitness, or their travel goals, or their career. But what about improving the home? There’s a lot of value in taking steps to make your property better. It’ll increase the value (which takes care of the financial aspect of the year), for starters, and it’ll also help you to enjoy being at home more. Many people make new year plans to escape their lives in one way or another, but you? You’ll be perfectly content where you are. But how should you go about the task of improving your home? We take a look at a few tried and tested ways below.

Thursday, 2 January 2020

So we've officially hit 2020 where 2 days in and I wake up ready to do my to do list based on my plans for this year and I am so apprehensive and nervous. 2019 was brutal for me I learnt the hard way that actual reality will always trump a false reality of what life is meant to be. Trying not to sound to ominous I will tell you exactly what I mean. This year I fell out of love with blogging because I got distracted by social media.I suddenly realised I can make an income from social media which was a surprise to me because I thought for such a long time you could only make money from blogging until I realised you can make money from IG with less effort on writing and finally I was getting paid for my effort in photography  so win win.

I soon felt so consumed in social media it became almost toxic and I will be honest I forgot the reasons why I started in the first place I love being creative I love taking a photo editing it planning content this is the essence of my joy in creativity.Another aspect of that creativity is writing I have always loved writing and it was the main reason for starting my blog because I can struggle to articulate myself in person but on paper I can write forever. So a few months ago I got approached to do some copy writing, to be honest I wasn't keen but I could do with the extra income so I said yes. After doing bits of copy writing for this person I started getting really good feedback and I started looking forward to it and I began to realise I needed to get back to basics. So here we are I've changed my logo did a slight blog refresh with images and I am back to writing what I am passionate about.

So its 2020 the 2nd of January and I checked my blog analytics and I realised I had nearly 4000 readers last month 2000 was from a total different country and it was like confirmation that I needed to get back on track because I have a voice that the world wants to hear and you do to and whether that voice is verbal or written nothing should silence that.

I think it was around the summer time I took like a few months away from Instagram the analytics was driving me mad and I felt it was making me doubt everything my creativity, who I was, everything. And I had someone say something extremely nasty to me and I was like I'm done for my mental health sake I am done.

Taking that break or detox did a world of good I started reconnecting with friends and family I started having deeper friendships with real people they call it social media but it was making me incredibly unsocial and socially awkward. I am an EXTROVERT hear me roar and I suddenly was classed as an introvert, distant or cold I have realised it's easier for someone to criticise rather than simply ask are you ok?..luckily I have learnt a long time ago not to let anyone label me ANYONE! .In hind sight I guess I kind of retreated in my thoughts like I would do on Instagram I was taking in my surroundings but I lost my voice.

I am in no way an activist against social media I love social media especially instagram and pinterest but there is life outside of your phone, people that love you, dreams your yet to accomplish. And to be honest taking that break is one of the reasons why I am launching my business cause now I have focus.I still wake up in the morning from time tto time and go down that never ending bunny hole called instagram but I feel I have more limit and control now. Even I am currently planning a set time to spend on social media daily to stay sane a bit dramatic but needed.

Well for starters I am going to write about and video about what I am passionate about a big part of that is beauty and blogging and lifestyle are other aspects. I've got some skincare tips post coming and some series I have been working on so leave your skin concerns in the comments wink wink.

I also have some styling post coming when it comes to my blog. This year I will focus a lot on Youtube  just as equally as my blog bare with me I am still getting comfortable talking to myself i.e the camera but I plan on being consistent when it comes to posting from next week so subscribe click the link in my bio on my IG.. I'm working on a post that will be helpful if your a small blog so you don't want to miss that.

I can proudly say as tough and hard as 2019 was it has moulded me to a better human being and a stronger one I use to shrink under the opinion of others now I frankly don't give a dam now.Criticism is meant to build you not to break you if its breaking you it's time for a friends declutter literally. I love the people in my circle family, friends and I have made some lovely influencer friends near the end of this year.

        Happy New Year,Happy 2020,
