AA Skincare: Shampoo Bar Review

AA Skincare kindly sent over there Botanical Boost Shampoo Bar for me to review and I was quite excited to try it because I not only love products that are slightly different from what I'm use to I really enjoy trialling hair care products because I'm quite fussy about what I put in my hair.

So the Botanical Boost Shampoo Bar contains Frankincense, Rose and Argan Oil and one of my favourite oils is Argan and I love the smell of rose scented products.*

A little bit of background on there range AA Skincare states that the bars are free from parabens, preservatives and artificial fragrances, the bars are easy to use and long lasting – a 50g bar gives you twice as many washes as a 250ml bottle of liquid shampoo.

Perfect for travel, festivals, the gym or for anyone on the go, the naturally effective solid shampoo bars clean without stripping protective oils – leaving hair with body and shine. Each bar is a cocktail of specially blended anti-oxidant, mineral and vitamin rich natural ingredients – from Frankincense, Rose and Argan through Lavender, Rosemary and Avocado to Cinnamon, Peppermint and Bergamot.

So the instructions are simply wet hair with warm water, rub shampoo bar between hands to create a luxurious, creamy foam – thanks to Coconut derived lathering ingredients - and massage into hair gently.  Leave for a couple of minutes and rinse thoroughly and condition, if necessary. Leave bar to dry ready to use again.

So when I opened the soap I loved the smell also when I wet my hair and added the lathered soap I found that it softened my hair straight away. I have really curly thick hair so I had to shampoo each section bit by bit but it melted away every knot and made my hair so much more manageable. To be honest I was quite surprised by that because it didn't lather up into a foam like I expected but then again I didn't rub it together alot in fear that I would drop it. So if you have curly hair this is not just good for cleaning your hair but its a great conditioner and detangler with the added bonus of leaving your hair soft and moisturised.

Only drawback I found with the soap and that's just me personally is since it is a soap if your not careful some of your hair strands can get lodged into the actual soap. But that's me personally I'm like that when it comes to hair creams because strands of my hair will get into the jar and I have to fish them out I just don't like to see strands of hair in products but that's probably me being a bit OCD.

Another point I'm glad that they mentioned is that its great for festival, travel the gym its mentioned all the places that you would personally use it for yourself. So I would love to actually get the same formula in a bottle form so my friend can maybe use it on a pamper evening. However, the cost of it is quite easy on the pocket anyway with each bar costing just £5.95. If you'd like to find out more or order check out  or Tel: 0117 904 7212

So lastly I've got a plastic soap case to travel with it when going to the gym but overall I do love this product. Would I purchase it yes I would its not everyday I find a shampoo bar that untangles my hair and leaves it soft and moisturised.
