In the new year I really wanted to try a new foundation. I've been using Mac and Bobby Brown Foundation for a long time and I really wanted to see what else was out there. After seeing a review on Youtube of the NARS All Day Luminous I went to selfridges intent on getting that one with my friend. My friend wanted to purchase the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation.

After trying the Nars Luminous Foundation I just didn't like how it looked on my skin and then my friend recommended using the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. Right away I was in-love, it literally blended with my skin so well that you wouldn't even guess I was wearing foundation and it had a nice even glow to it. Strangely enough my friend loved the Nars Luminous Foundation and I frankly think that suited her a lot better.

The colour they matched me with is Trinidad and I have combination skin with a bit of oilyness on my tzone area.

When I purchased this I had no idea it was so popular amongst the beauty community. But if your thinking of trying it I wanted to share with you some background information on this product.

“A glowing, satin-finish foundation with sheer and buildable coverage. Replete with skincare benefits and the Nars Complexion Brightening Formula, skin is hydrated, more luminous, softer and smoother. Used daily, Sheer Glow Foundation improves skin brightness, radiance and texture. For normal to dry skin types.”

The Foundation is medium to full coverage so its not sheer whatsoever. Also it will last throughout the day especially if you use it with a good primer. I used mine with the laura gellar primer and despite I have an oily tzone my makeup looked really great still at the end of the day.( I also used setting spray and powder)

I think because for the most part of my combination skin majority of my face is dry. So if you have oily skin this might be something to take note of.

Also The Nars Sheer Glow Foundation feels really light on the skin honestly it doesn't feel like I was wearing anything and my skin really glowed through.

The packaging is so nice I just cant get over it I guess I just love monochrome or minimal packaging for some reason and Nars packaging ticked all the boxes for me. I purchased the foundation for £32 and payed a further £3 for the pump.

Since purchasing this foundation I have bought a few Nars Lip Pencils, Nars Eye Liner and I've got my eyes on their concealers at the moment, but so far I absolutely love their sheer glow foundation its a definite winner.

I got my colour match done at Selfridges in Marble Arch can be found at Feel Unique, Look Fantastic and House of Fraser also.

Thank you for Reading,

  1. I really need to try this foundation, only ever heard good things! x

    1. It's my go to you should definitely try it out I'm obsessed with it!😍

  2. I need to try this foundation, it has been on my radar for a while. Winter is getting to my skin though so I can't tell if luminous or sheer glow will be better for me. Guess I'll have to go in and try both.

    1. Yes that's your best bet to try it in store. If your skin gets dry around winter Sheer glow would be great if it's a bit more oily luminous is your best bet because it's more of a matte finish.

  3. Nars Sheer Glow used to be my holy grail foundation, but I just started to not get along with it, so I haven't used it in years. I'll have to give it a go again though!
