Give your home a fresh start for 2017

I literally cant believe that in a few days we are going to be in a new year this year just went by so fast even with its highs and lows I have to admit overall its been a good year. So before Christmas and all the festivities I started going through loads of my wardrobe because I can be a bit of a hoarder and I didn't want to go into 2017 with that mentality, in fact I have been looking for some books on living a more minimal lifestyle so if you know any good books please leave a comment down below.

Mini Superdrug Makeup Haul Plus a Special Gift( Blogmas Day 6)

So a few days ago I went to superdrug with plans to get nail polish I saw some really nice nailpolishes in an advert on YouTube where the bottle had a ribbed effect on it so I was like I need to have them in my life. So after arriving at Superdrug all the plans of getting nail polish went out the window when I saw the palette's and other new makeup products they were displaying. To be honest I wanted a new pallet I am one of those people that eye shadow can sometimes look a bit heavy when applied to my face if its not balanced well so when I buy an eye shadow it would last for long or like most people some colours don't even get touched.

The makeup revolution set up stood out to me the most because there was so much choice I stood their for ages because everything was so beautiful I could have easily walked out of Superdrug with 3 palettes guilt free they were all so nice. I've made it my aim in 2017 to do more eyeshadow looks so I will do a review on the palette in in a separate blog post but firstly let me list the makeup bits that I bought.

1. Makeup Revolution Eye Shadow Beyond Flawless Matte Palette- This Pallete had all my favourite matte colours. In the whole palette the colours are very understated and beautiful theirs a wide range of beige, pinks and brown which are amazing base colours with brighter tones. I have tried a few of the darker colours and their also very pigmented. I am extremely excited to review this palette more in dept as well as do some swatches for you.

2. Sleek True Colour Lipstick (In the colour Dare)-  This lipstick to be honest was so AMAZING! it needed a seperate blog post of its own will be doing a separate review will let you know when that post is up. To be honest their was 2 colours in this range that I was drawn to but because I had a similar colour to one of them and the one I eventually bought was so nice that I couldn't leave it I just bought one. My only complaint is that I want more of it I wish this lipstick was bigger because it is going to be my new Fall/Winter Staple.

3. Revoholic Lips(Special Gift)- I picked up one palette and the baked highlighter and the store assistant showed me 3 free gifts you can choose from with this purchase there was Revoholic Lips, Revoholic Eyes and Revoholic Cheeks. To be totally honest I wanted all of them I spent what was like forever in the store deciding on the special gift because my favourite makeup is lipstick and I would actually use all the colours but I was so tempted by the other two gifts I picked them up put them down thought seriously about getting another palette just so I can get another one. But I had gifts to purchase for birthdays and Christmas also but I'm sure I will end up in Superdrug again before Christmas so hopefully I can get my hands on the other two gifts Ha!

4.Makeup Revolution Baked Highlighter in Rose Gold Lights- This highlighter is beautiful, its so soft and all I can think about is summer when I apply it to my makeup it is inexpensive but the quality of it is not. I will leave the full price of all items in the haul and the links also. I am definitely going out to get my hands on another one.(Smiles)

So this haul might seem like a short one but I purchased not only makeup products but non makeup products also I will be posting some of the items I got on my Instagram page so you can follow me Here! to see some of the pictures I will be posting.

1. Makeup Revolution Eye Shadow Beyond Flawless Palette
£8.00 and you can find it Here!
2. Sleek True Colour Lipstick £4.99 and you can find it Here!
3. Makeup Revolution Revoholic Lips( Special Gift)- Free gift when you spend over£10 on Makeup Revolution Products

Product Review: Glittery Floral Scents( Blogmas Day 5)

Hey Lovelies,

For today's Blogmas post I got something a bit more different than usual because I've been shopping for Christmas quite a lot and as a Blogger I really enjoy the new products that you find on the shelf that are not usual mainstream brands that I'm use to because you find some lovely finds that later on become a big success. For instance I received an Amazon Kindle Fire when it just came out on Christmas a few years back from my husband and it wasn't that popular and it retailed at £99.00 I raved to everyone I knew about that product its such a powerful piece of tech its like using a laptop and I feel it wasn't given as much credit as it deserves. Now it retails at over £300.00 so I'm a big fan of the newbies due to that product because you just never know.

So I was shopping in a store and I purchased some well known brands and some not so well known products and I couldn't leave this glittery little number, it was inexpensive and to be honest what got me was the packaging it could have had socks in it and I probably would have bought it Ha!

So this gliterry rose gold lace number is the White Grace Eau De Toilet. On the back of the box it says that its inspired by elegance and beauty, smell gorgeous all day long. A luxurious floriental scent with comforting Sandalwood and Patchouli wrapped in gentle Rose and White Jasmine. This product is apart of the Tesco Range and Tesco came ready to serve this year when it comes to packaging and gift sets.

Yummy Shortbread Cookies that wont make it to the end of Christmas( Blogmas Day 4)

I've mentioned a few times in previous food post that I'm not the greatest of bakers when it comes to sweet items unless the recipe is uber easy. You can literally count on one hand all the sweet items I can bake and that includes corn bread, apple crumble, apple and peach crumble and a vanilla sponge. Rather than staying away from the kitchen after a few baking blunders I am slowly adding other recipes to my sweet baking list so  for today's recipe I'm sharing with you a shortbread cookie recipe that I have perfected. (Yay! Happy Dance)

I absolutely love this recipe it is so easy to bake with children also and for the insistent little ones that want to leave some for Santa you can pair it with a glass of milk on Christmas Eve Night. The ingredients that are listed are for a really big batch it yields 4-5 dozen cookies so if you are trying to stay on a diet during Christmas I suggest you make a smaller batch by cutting the measurements in half because these cookies are extremely moreish.(can't say I didn't warn you Ha!).

2cups unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 1⁄2cups powdered sugar
2tablespoons vanilla extract
4cups flour
2teaspoons baking powder

1.Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or generously spray with non stick spray.

2.Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, mix butter and sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla and beat until combined.

3.In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Add slowly to butter mixture on low speed.

4.Do not overbeat! Only mix until flour is incorporated

5.Form dough into big ball and place in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

6.Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Roll out chilled dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutter or you can use a pizza cutter and make squares or rectangles. Another option is to roll into a log and cut 1/4 inch thick slices.

7.Using a spatula, transfer to cookie sheets leaving about 1/2 inch between cookies.

8.Bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges. Cool 10 minutes on cookie sheet and then transfer to cooling rack.

These are so good -- you are going to wish you doubled the recipe!
I hope you enjoy the recipe if you decide to try it also if you make any corrections to the recipe, add icing or put your own  twist on it feel free to let myself/ other readers know in the comment below. And lastly if you have any other festive recipes or recipes in general you would like me to try be sure to leave a comment down below.

Happy Holidays,

Perfect White Gold offers fantastic teeth whitening results with the added benefits of gold, which is known for its anti-bacterial properties, anti-inflammatory action and can also increase blood flow.

Low in abrasion, Perfect White Gold toothpaste helps remove surface and deep stains caused by tea, coffee, red wine, tobacco and spicy foods, to brighten, lighten and whiten your teeth.

So I'm excited to present to you Beverly Hills formula's latest tooth whitening product, I must say I was so excited to receive this product in the mail because the first product I used  by Beverly Hills Formula was their black charcoal toothpaste and I loved it I will be doing a review on the blog of that toothpaste in the new year so subscribe so you can be notified. I've just received this product so I can't really give my thoughts on it just yet but I will give you an update when I have had a chance to use it some more. My Rose Gold Faves: My top 5 favourite items( Blogmas Day2)

Hey Lovelies,

While shooting some of the pictures for Blogmas my camera would just shut off or there would be some weird smudge in the same place on all of my pictures it was driving me "Christmas Crazy" so I realised after loads of attempts that my camera was broken so I got a new camera and I must say I'm not so sad anymore that the camera broke because my picture quality with this new camera is heaps better. So I'm going to be posting like mad to catch up when it comes to Blogmas but it would be totally worth it when you see what I got in store for you.

So in 2016 rose gold became the craze every where and I am in love with all things rose gold I really believe that if  everything I owned was rose gold I would be one happy beauty blogger. I came up with this post because new look was selling a rose gold sequenced dress that I was tempted to get for new year and when I had to pick the colour for my Iphone 7 I didn't even hesitate to think about the colour.

So even though I've got alot of items in rose gold I wanted to list my top 5 items that I am sligtly in love with so here goes:

1.SK Lashes- These lashes come in a beautiful rose gold packaging and the eyelashes are so beautiful I will definitely be doing a review on these on the blog when I do my next makeup look.

2.PNY Rose Gold Phone Charger - I don't leave home without it I charge it up put it in my bag and I am ready to go, no matter how long my days are I am never left with a dead battery.

3. The Vivid Baked Highlighter- This product was by makeup revolution and its in the shade rose gold lights I literally couldn't leave superdrug without it I cant wait to do loads of makeup looks with this highlighter.

4.Rose Gold Earring Stud Earrings- I purchased these from primark and I wear them all of the time they are so every day and they have a sense of sophistication to them without being overdone their really cute especially if your hair is up in a top knot. Also they are inexpensive think I got them for a £1.50.

5.Rose Gold Glittery Leaf Earrings- Purchased these from primark a while back and all I thought of when I saw them was new year their just so elegant and glittery they would add a touch of glitter if your wearing a white/ beige top when your bringing in the new year.

Well I hope you like my celebration of all things rose gold, I would love to know what rose gold items are your favourites I'm currently looking for some measuring spoons and cups in rose gold to get some baking done.  Leave a comment down below and don't forget to subscribe.

Secret Santa:Affordable and Useful Gift Idea's for Him/Her (Blogmas Day 1)

This is my first Christmas Post I will be doing many more because I am doing 6 days of Blogmas counting down to Christmas or the last few days before Christmas wohooo. As you can see this post is regarding Secret Santa and to your shock horror I must confess that I am a self confessed secret santa hater( yes you read right) without going into a total rant about the reason's why I hate secret santa from the nervousness you feel when you pick the names because you don't want someone difficult to buy for or where office parties are concerned someone you know absolutely nothing about(gloves and hat set it is). The second reason I dislike secret santa without sounding totally ungrateful is the gift choices I know its the thought that counts but the secret santa exchange is rarely balanced you either put so much effort to buy a lovely gift for someone and you walk away with a glove and hat set or a pack of incense or in another case of mine nothing at all or you put little effort and your secret santa thinks your the most rubbish gift purchaser in the history of Christmas and avoid you like the plague for all future secret santa's. So this post had to be done because despite I'm not a professional to say the least theirs some Secret Santa gifts you can get without breaking the bank that are quality items that will leave your  secret santa's with a smile when they open their gift.

Who doesn't love an item that is personalised, before when you wanted to buy something personalised you had to spend a bit of money but now it is so much easier to get a personalised item whether its a mug, a coaster, a diary, a pen, a christmas bauble, a shirt, a bath robe(which I'm getting done this year for the hubby so don't tell him), a key ring, an apron you can personalise just about anything these days. Also personalised doesn't always have to be someone's name or face it could be a quote or something you know about them 2 Christmas's ago I got a mug with the Superman S on it and the words Super Brother for a family friend that mug cost me £3.99 at Card Factory here in the UK  and he loved it (sips tea). Also I got a candle personalised with a quote friends are a guiding light for 2.99 for a friend,in terms of a secret Santa that have a £5/$5-£10/$10 you can pair that item with other bits and bobs so even if they don't like your personal options they are bound to be smiling at the one thing you got them that they can relate to as well as use around the house.

Another place that does inexpensive personalised items is Ebay, gosh their my go to my friend even got me an a A4 picture made out of jigsaw puzzle with pictures of a few moments with my husband and our marital name  in the middle all fancy that made me cry when I received it and it is probably my favourite Chritmas Gift to date everyone that comes to my home always gives compliments about it and its really inexpensive. Another place that does great personalised items is Amazon, there are many online and physical stores that do personalised items and even cards all around the world and here in the UK but I wanted to list a few that no matter where you are you can know what online store I'm talking about.

Your probably like there is no way I am splashing out loads of money on my secret santa on jewellery or a watch well you don't have to these days there are some really nice quality watches that are affordable as well as jewellery. For Instance do some fabulous inexpensive jewellery they also do free postage and packaging if you spend over £10, and you can also get free personalisation on some of the pieces. I love their products because you can get real jewellery that is memorable without breaking the bank. They also do mens item which are inexpensive like bracelets just in case you want to get your son, brother or husband something for secret santa and you can even get that engraved. I had a chance to do a photo shoot with some of jewellery boxes pieces so just in case you want to see that post its Here! and if you want to do some shopping for Christmas you can find them Here!. By the way if you hate wrapping gifts their packaging is so cute and "instagrammable" you just have to receive it and put it under the tree.

For watches a lot of the highstreet stores do some amazing watches for quite reasonable prices one of my favourites I've got to say is New Look their watches have been really beautiful from rose gold to floral prints, dimante's, gold straps ect because some days you want a casual watch that still looks nice this is perfect for a female secret santa and by the way they do watches for male secret santa's to not a wide range but they've got a few good ones. New Look's watches range between £15-£20 and you can find them all Here!. I will be doing a blog post in Blogmas with Gift Idea's for Him so you will have a wide range of idea's for gifts for men I must admit I struggle in this area but I've got some male helpers to help me. There are also other high street stores that do inexpensive nice watches like H & M check out this cute one thats under £7.00 Here or Dorothy Perkins and Primark you'll be surprised at the finds you get in the high street stores.

I don't know about you but I just love receiving a purse for Secret Santa we all have to put our money into something stylish and I feel even if someone has one already they might be like me in terms of alternating purses sometime according to occasion or when they change their handbag or they might need one just when theirs is broken and yours might come in handy. You can get a really lovely inexpensive purse from primark, next, H and M and the list continues and purses range in value so no matter the value placed on your secret santa gift your bound to find something I'm sure.  Men's walletts are the same their are loads of choices on the high street  as well as on amazon and ebay.

There has been so much sales that despite there are some cardigans and knits that are quite expensive you can find some in the sales for under £20.00/$20.00 and you can get a jumper for a male secret santa or female. Also with Christmas on the way a Christmas sweater/cardigan would be great also their are quite a lot of inexpensive ones.

I love Organisers, Planners and Diary's for 2017 the girlier the better and alot of them are not that expensive and you can get ones for male and female. I've probably purchased 1 calender and 2 organisers already and we haven't even hit Christmas yet. Those men and women with busy lifestyles will appreciate you for it and if your stationary geek like me that will be an item that will easily become one of their favourite gifts once the new year comes. Also for an added touch you can even get a personalised pen to go with it or even buy an organiser or planner thats personalised.

When I say get your secret santa what they want or need its in the range of being able to afford it  and whether it is relevant to the secret santa your purchasing the item for.(macbooks and a Mercedes anyone ha). Every time around Christmas and the months leading up to it whether its work colleagues, familys or friends I always listen out or keep an eye out for what a person might want or need. This has helped me to get it right when it come's to buying secret santa gifts for my husband that has left him pretty happy on Christmas Day. You probably notice that a colleague in the office loves makeup get them makeup or a makeup voucher for Mac/ Bobby Brown ect. One of your sister's son's coat is looking slightly worn buy a coat. Your mum keeps talking about this yankee candle scent for ages buy it for her. Sometimes people make purchasing a secret santa gift for them easier without knowing it don't make it difficult for yourself.

There is so many gift ideas I could have come up with I could have listed a list of 50- 100 types of gifts but I didn't want to complicate your decision making when sometimes it can be hard as it is to decide on a secret santa gift especially when their are so much factors to think about sometimes. So I wanted to prepare you with a range of gift ideas that no matter whether you pick a male or a female out of that  hat or box you will have an idea already of what your getting and you and your secret santa can enjoy secret santa. As I was writing this post I really went down memory lane because I remembered the secret santa's I have took part in where a few people were happy with their gifts others were upset to the point of tears while a few were furious. I think that if its going to get to that extreme we have to realise that Christmas is about giving and not just giving anything for the sake of giving but giving your best. I'm still getting loads of gifts for friends and family  and maby next year I'll take part in secret santa since my gift getting has gotten slightly better over the years also, eh who knows lol.

I will be putting a few more gift idea post up soon so subscribe to be notified of these and if you have any more gift ideas that is equally great for a guy or a girl please leave a comment down below. Also if you want some more places to get some of the items I have listed inexpensively leave a comment below.

Happy Holidays,
